Broadway at the Landmark

Disney’s The Lion King is coming to the Landmark Theatre from Wednesday, December 4 through Sunday, December 15. We are expecting large crowds, so we wanted to provide some helpful tips for before the show, for when you arriveduring the show, and after the show. 

PLEASE NOTE: This engagement of Lion King includes the use of haze and strobe lights.

Before the Show 

Q. What time should I arrive at the Landmark Theatre?

A. Our doors will open one hour before the time listed on your ticket. This show is well sold, so plan to arrive early to find parking and get inside on time so you don’t get locked out during the hold. 

Q. Where can I park?

A. There are areas available for parking around the Landmark. However, make sure you plan enough time to find parking, especially if you aren’t used to parking in Downtown Syracuse. We have created a link to help you find parking at: https://landmarktheatre.org/about/planning-your-visit/parking/

Q. What do I do if I purchased my ticket on Ticketmaster?

A. It will help ease your entry experience if your tickets are saved to your Apple Wallet or Google Pay. That way your ticket is readily available, regardless of the level of mobile service your device has at that time. If you choose not to use your phone’s wallet, please have your Ticketmaster account pulled up ahead of time so you can get through the entry process as quickly as possible! *Screenshots will not work as valid tickets*

Q. What if I need to buy a ticket?

A. Tickets are available for purchase at the Box Office. If you are looking at the front doors of the theatre, the Box Office is to the left.

Q. Do I need to purchase a ticket for my child?

A. Yes, patrons of all ages need a ticket to come to a Broadway show.

Q. Where is Will Call?

A. Will Call is also located at our Box Office. Please have your photo ID and credit card used to purchase the tickets you are picking up.

Q. What if I arrive for a show on the wrong date?

A. Unfortunately, we cannot reseat a patron that shows up to the wrong performance. Be sure to double-check your tickets before you leave home to avoid this!

Q. Is there security at the Landmark Theatre?

A. Yes! When you visit the Landmark Theatre, our first priority is your care and safety. Upon entry to the theatre, patrons will be screened with handheld metal-detecting wands. Only small handbags, as well as diaper bags, will be permitted upon inspection to the theatre. Also, patrons are allowed one sealed 16 oz bottle of water per guest. Backpacks, oversized bags, outside food and beverages, and weapons of any kind are not permitted in the building. If you have any items that are not allowed into the venue, please return them to your vehicle or discard them into the appropriate trash receptacles at the entry doors. Patrons have the right to refuse a bag search, and our venue has the right to refuse entry. *Exceptions may be made for patrons with medical needs; please speak with security when you arrive. 

Q. Where are the restrooms located?

A. There are men’s restrooms on the first and second floors, and women’s restrooms on all three floors. Each set is accessible by elevator.  The ADA restrooms are located on the main floor.

Q. Are there concession stands?

A. Yes, concession stands are located in all three lobbies of the theatre. The stands in the main and upper lobbies serve a selection of mixed drinks, wine, beer, soda, water, and a variety of candy and cookies. The stand in the basement will offer soda, water, a variety of candy and cookies, but NO alcohol. However, only the main floor concession stands serve coffee. Credit cards and cash are accepted.

Q. Will there be a merchandise stand at this show?

A. Yes, there will be a merchandise stand in both the main and upper lobbies.

Q. I have access to the Members’ Lounge. How do I get there?

A. The Members’ Lounge is located on the second floor, directly above the Salina St. doors. The lounge is accessible by stairs or the elevator. An usher will be stationed there and will check your lounge passes.  The Members’ Lounge is available one hour before curtain and during intermission.

Q. How do I find my seats?

A. If your tickets say “LOGE” or “BALC,” you will be upstairs. The elevator will go to the upstairs lobby, however, please keep in mind that you will have to be able to take the stairs to the loge and balcony seating areas.  If your tickets say “ORCH,” you are on the main level. The aisles are numbered 1 through 5, starting from the right! If you need any more assistance, you can always ask a Landmark Theatre staff member or an usher.

Q. Is accessible seating available?

A. Accessible seating may be purchased through all points of purchase. Wheelchair accessibility is available in five different locations on the orchestra level, as well as 12 seats with flip-up armrests for those who use walkers, who can transfer from a wheelchair, or who find our seats too restrictive. 

Q. Are there any assistive listening devices available for use during the show?

A. Yes! We have FM assistive listening devices available for use. An usher can help you acquire a device.

During the Show 

Q. How long is the show?

A. Disney’s The Lion King is 2 hours and 28 minutes long, with an 18 minute intermission.

Q. Is there a hold for this show?

A. Yes, there are multiple holds within this show. At the beginning of the show, there is a hold during “Circle of Life”. About 30 minutes into Act I, there is a hold during “They Live In You.” Right after intermission, there is a hold during the song, “One By One.”  A hold is a period of time at the start of a show where patrons are not allowed to enter or leave the theatre. Please plan accordingly when getting snacks or using the restroom so you don’t get stuck in the lobby during the hold. If you are in the lobby, the show will be playing on the TVs, so you are able to watch and listen to the performance. As soon as the hold is over, you will be allowed back into the theatre.

Q. Is re-entry allowed at these performances?

A. No. 

Q. Can I take pictures or videos of the show?

A. Photography and video recording inside the theatre is prohibited. However, you are welcome to take pictures in our lobbies. Also, out of respect for the performers and other guests, please turn your cell phone off or on silent.

After the Show 

Q. What if I lose something?

A. Ask an usher or Landmark Theatre staff if they can check the lost and found for you. You can call our box office the following day at (315) 475-7979.

Q. Can I get autographs from the performers after the show?

A. For the safety of the performers, they will not be doing autographs. Patrons are not permitted at the stage door before or after the performance.
